{"id":1804,"date":"2025-11-10T00:31:37","date_gmt":"2025-11-10T00:31:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ultrexstaff.com\/?p=1804"},"modified":"2025-11-10T00:31:38","modified_gmt":"2025-11-10T00:31:38","slug":"how-to-send-as-an-alias-or-shared-mailbox-in-outlook-com","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ultrexstaff.com\/?p=1804","title":{"rendered":"How to send as an alias or shared mailbox in outlook.com"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to send as an alias or shared mailbox in outlook.com<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p>Before being able to send as, two settings must be changed on the admin portal:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To enable&nbsp;<strong>Send as Alias<\/strong>&nbsp;in the Microsoft 365 Admin Portal, follow these two steps:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Step 1: Enable &#8220;Send from Alias&#8221; in Exchange Online<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Go to<\/strong>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/admin.microsoft.com\/\">Microsoft 365 Admin Center<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Navigate to\u00a0<strong>Settings<\/strong>\u00a0\u2192\u00a0<strong>Org Settings<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click on\u00a0<strong>Email<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Look for\u00a0<strong>&#8220;Send email from alias&#8221;<\/strong>, check the box, and click\u00a0<strong>Save<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Step 2: Assign &#8220;Send As&#8221; Permission for the Alias<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In the\u00a0<strong>Exchange Admin Center<\/strong>\u00a0(<a href=\"https:\/\/admin.exchange.microsoft.com\/\">https:\/\/admin.exchange.microsoft.com<\/a>):\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Go to\u00a0<strong>Recipients<\/strong>\u00a0\u2192\u00a0<strong>Mailboxes<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select the mailbox where you want to send as an alias.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click\u00a0<strong>Mailbox Delegation<\/strong>\u00a0(left panel).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Under\u00a0<strong>Send As<\/strong>, click\u00a0<strong>Add<\/strong>\u00a0and select the user.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click\u00a0<strong>Save<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2705 Now, users can send emails using the alias in Outlook or OWA. It may take some time for changes to take effect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once that is done (sometimes as much as 10-15 minutes to wait for the delegation to take effect), then you can show the user how to send as that email:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you need to send emails that do not require a response, you can set up a no-reply email account. Follow these steps to configure and use a no-reply email address:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Ensure you are using\u00a0<strong>Outlook.com<\/strong>\u00a0for sending emails.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Go to\u00a0<strong>Settings<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select\u00a0<strong>Mail<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click on\u00a0<strong>Compose and reply<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Check the box that says\u00a0<strong>Always show from<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>To send an email from the no-reply address:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>On the compose mail page, look for the\u00a0<strong>From<\/strong>\u00a0field above the\u00a0<strong>To<\/strong>\u00a0field.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Type in the no-reply email address (e.g.,\u00a0<strong>no-reply@Canyonview.us<\/strong>) in the\u00a0<strong>From<\/strong>\u00a0field.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Compose your email and send it.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Note: If recipients reply to the no-reply email, you will not see their responses, and neither will anyone else.
