{"id":1621,"date":"2025-10-26T23:26:52","date_gmt":"2025-10-26T23:26:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ultrexstaff.com\/?p=1621"},"modified":"2025-10-26T23:26:52","modified_gmt":"2025-10-26T23:26:52","slug":"extracting-irst-drivers-from-the-exe-file","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ultrexstaff.com\/?p=1621","title":{"rendered":"Extracting IRST Drivers from the EXE file"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>**************************************************************************<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>* 6.&nbsp; INSTALLING THE SOFTWARE<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>**************************************************************************<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>6.1 General Installation Notes<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>a.&nbsp; If you are installing the operating system on a computer configured for RAID or AHCI<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp; mode, you may pre-install the Intel(R) Rapid Storage Technology driver using the&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &#8220;F6&#8221; (Load Driver) installation method described in section 6.3 below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>b.&nbsp; If you\u2019re installing the operating system on a computer configured for \u2018Intel(R) Smart&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp; Response Technology\u2019 or \u2018System Acceleration with Intel(R) Optane(TM) Technology\u2019, you&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp; must pre-install the Intel(R) Rapid Storage Technology driver using the&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &#8220;F6&#8221; (Load Driver) installation method described in section 6.3 below.&nbsp; The Intel(R) RST pre-OS version must support the Intel(R) RST technology that you are installing to.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>c.&nbsp; To install Intel(R) Rapid Storage Technology from within the OS during runtime,&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp; double-click on the self-extracting and self-installing setup file and answer all<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp; prompts presented.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>6.2 Intel(R) RST Windows Automated Installer*. Installation from HDD, USB, or CD-ROM<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Note: This method is applicable to computers configured for RAID or AHCI mode.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>a.&nbsp; Obtain the Intel(R) Rapid Storage Technology setup file name: SetupRST.exe and<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp; double-click to self-extract and to begin the setup process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>b.&nbsp; The Welcome window appears. Click &#8216;Next&#8217; to continue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>c.&nbsp; For systems running in RAID mode, the Uninstallation Warning window appears. You will&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp; not be able to uninstall the driver in this mode. Click &#8216;Next&#8217; to continue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>d.&nbsp; The Software License Agreement window appears. If you agree to these terms, click the<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp; check box then click &#8216;Yes&#8217; to continue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>e.&nbsp; Select the check box to install Intel(R) Optane(TM) Memory and Storage Management application if required then click &#8216;Next&#8217; to continue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>f.&nbsp; If the Windows Automated Installer* Wizard Complete window is shown without a prompt&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp; to restart the system, click &#8216;Finish&#8217; and proceed to step \u201cg\u201d. If it is shown with a&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp; prompt to restart the system, select \u2018I want to restart my computer now.&#8217;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp; (selected by default) and click &#8216;Finish&#8217;. Once the system has restarted, proceed to&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp; step \u201cg\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>g.&nbsp; To verify that the driver was loaded correctly, refer to section 7.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>6.3 Pre-Installation of INTEL(R) RST driver using the &#8220;Load Driver&#8221; Method.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>a.&nbsp; Extract driver files from SetupRST.exe:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &#8211; Open terminal in the directory with SetupRST.exe by right-clicking the directory<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; and selecting &#8220;Open in Terminal&#8221; or &#8220;Open PowerShell here&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &#8211; Enter the following command:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; .\/SetupRST.exe -extractdrivers SetupRST_extracted<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>b.&nbsp; Copy all driver files from the SetupRST-extracted to a USB key media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>c.&nbsp; For Microsoft Windows OS*:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &#8211; During the operating system installation, after selecting the location to install&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Windows, click &#8216;Load Driver&#8217; to install a third party SCSI or RAID driver.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>d.&nbsp; When prompted, insert the USB media and press Enter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>e.&nbsp; Follow the prompts and browse to the location of the installation files.&nbsp; Select the&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp; appropriate \u2018.inf\u2019 file (64 or 32 bit).&nbsp; If a supported controller is detected there&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp; will be no error message.
